Outdoor
rooms,
composed.
Verdier & Co. is a landscape architecture practice composing residential gardens as quiet, considered architecture — gravel, water, shadow, leaf.
Featured Transformation
A neglected hillside, re-imagined as an olive terrace.
Eighteen months of site work transformed a hostile slope into a terraced grove of fifty mature olives, walled in dry-stacked limestone. The (fictional) residence above gains a year-round outdoor room without disturbing the original line of the hill.

The Practice · IV Principles
Restraint, repeated until it sings.
- 01
Site & Topography
Reading the land before drawing a single line — sun paths, prevailing wind, water.
- 02
Material Palette
Limestone, weathered oak, native grasses, oxidised steel — composed in restraint.
- 03
Living Architecture
Pools, pavilions, and orchard rooms designed as extensions of the residence.
- 04
Stewardship
Five-year cultivation plans so the garden matures into the design intent.
Field Note · Nº 014
"We design the silences as carefully as the planting."
A fictional excerpt from the practice's spring journal. We treat negative space — the bare gravel court, the open lawn, the long view to the trees — as the central architectural material of the garden.
